Be Well. Do Well

To achieve your sustainability commitments, Aramark is proud to extend our sustainability strategy, Be Well. Do Well., to your district. Be Well. Do Well. showcases our commitment to sustainability and sums up our goal to enable people to prosper, on a healthy planet, for generations to come while ensuring long-term growth on your campus. It focuses on eight priorities, which align with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in 2015.

We invite you to take a closer look at our sustainability priorities and the progress we have made in each area.

Blue Sky with Clouds

We have committed to enabling equity and wellbeing for millions and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 15% from our 2019 baseline by 2025.

Swiping Out Hunger

Aramark has a partnership with Swipe Out Hunger, a national nonprofit seeking to promote high-impact, innovative solutions to address hunger on campus—including programs to donate unused meal swipes.

Minimizing Food Waste

Aramark donates surplus prepared food to hunger relief agencies in our communities whenever possible, including partnering with colleges and universities to divert waste from landfills. We're proud to be recognized by the US EPA and the USDA as a Food Loss and Waste 2030 Champion for our commitment to reduce food loss and waste in our operations by 50 percent by 2030.

Food Donation

Although our goal is to eliminate food waste before it’s generated, there may still be instances when our operations have excess safe, unserved food. Our food donation program provides this food to hunger relief and community agencies. In 2020, we donated more than 175,000 pounds of food, helping feed people in our communities and keeping surplus prepared food out of landfills.
